Glory Land Bound

My Loving Mother

My Loving Mother

My Loving Mother

My mother has been the light of my Life

She fought the fight through sickness and pain

My loving mother will never suffer again

She was called to Glory Land

I could not get a flight until the next day

That my father said "Come on home now, your Mother is not okay"

She lived two hours after I arrived home, you see

I believe in my heart that

She was  there  waiting for  me.

She said "Diane is that you?"

"Yes," I said. "I am here now."

"It is okay, Mother."

I held the oxygen close to her

So she could breath a little more somehow.

I ask her to breath slowly in and out

And to say her favorite Bible verse.

She said “Yes, please do not go?"

I kissed her on the cheek

And she was so sweet,

When she ran out of pain medication

The staff ask for us to go.

I had visited her for almost three hours

As we left the room

I was getting ready to walk out the hospital door

I wanted to walk in the Chapel once more.

Just to say a prayer

Of  thanks Dear Lord that I could make it there!

We pulled up in my brother’s car at my dads home.

My daughter and brother ran in and back from the phone

Yes, I was still in the car, They ran out "Mother is gone.”

They came to me from the phone.

“Thank you, Lord, for getting me home."

In Memory Of My Loving Mother.
