Diane's Poems

Glory Land Bound

It was Written In The Sand

As the Storm roared through the night

and no one could understand

I was thinking of How I Love You

It was written in the sand

It was written in the Sand

As the Hurricane's twisted around our house

There was floods around my home

The Floods were behind my house

with trailers flooding all about,

The canal looked like a river

It was very close to my backdoor,

We walked through the Storm!

No one could really understand;

All I could do Is think of how I Love You

It was written in the Sand

It was written In the Sand

As the wind would pound the house

The window shaking all about

"I would Pray and Pray All Night"

All I could do is think of how I Love you

It was written in the Sand

It Was Written In The Sand

As The Sea begins to quite

After the Hurricane's stirred the Land,

All I can think of is how I love you,

It was  written in the sand.

We are not in charge of the destiny

Or, how the weary Storm roams.

The winds on the Seas has a mind

Of its own.

Some people had many losses through

Hurricane Charley, Frances, Ivan, and now Jeanne

Some people will go threw much pain and

Other people just had lots and lots of rain.

Many  people have lost their lives through these Storms.

The  worse Storms in  History Through

Central Florida I am told.

It is such a weary feeling to ride through a Hurricane.

"All my family was in my home".

"I prayed, and prayed for hours on end,"

We live in a large solid home out about 6 miles

From the Seashore Pounding Waters.

We laughed, we cried, we even had a small

Television with all batteries and it stayed on

One station threw the Storm as we looked

With flashlights and lantern's

We Walked through  the storms as they roared

Through the night.

As The Sea begins to quite

After the Hurricane stirred the Land,

All I can think of is how I love you,

It was written in the sand.

We are not in charge of the destiny

Or, how the weary Storm roams.

The winds on the Seas has a mind of it own.

"I prayed, and prayed for hours on end,"

We Walked through  the storm as it roared through the night."

As the Winds got close to 90 miles per hour

We huddled in the middle of the floor as

We watched the little television on the floor.

We could see as the Storm came our way.

The stirring winds and buckets of rain;

I could hear the Storm it sounded like a heavy

Freight Train,

The Hurricane was Wild without a destination

Through the Storm Twirling across the land.

Many people of Center Florida just got the worst hit ever.

Twice in the same places I understand.

We got the Wild furious winds and heavy storms and rains.

My friend, so young, that lives at the end

Of my street,

Was so afraid and they huddled in her front bath.

"They huddled one another and Pray the  night  through".

She is single and has two children.

They had no small television,

And living on the end house of the street

She got the winds that were fierce

They thought their lives were over, as they

Heard the sounds of the loud and weary winds.

It hit a tree very large from her neighbors' lawn.

This was Hurricane Charley,

I almost hit her house as they heard their house shake,

The tree had gone threw her car.

It looked like it was growing through the middle of her

New SUV.

I walked to see if she would be was o.k.

As I took a walk down my Roadway

My neighbors' were all about just looking with

Shock , amazed at the damage left.

Trees blown up from the ground

with brush and even roofing had been blowing

blowing all around.

The trees from most all lawns

were uprooted and everywhere,

I thought I was in the middle of a battle zone

With nowhere else to roam.

It looked like the tree was growing through her car.

Their lives were saved from the Storm!

The moral of this story is:

"Everything Is Not Always Nice In the Land

Of Paradise"

"Thank You My Lord For Walking Us Through the Storms".
