Alana My Friend

Alana My Friend

When I think of you

It is so very true

                 ~**~

We were just little girls when I saw you come In the class one day

I was looking out the window as always

                  ~**~

Then to my surprise, I could not ever realize

That the little girl that they sit close to me

Would be you, Alana, my friend, as you can see

                  ~**~

We were just in grammer school and so many

years have gone by

We did so many things growing up.

How did you ever put up with me?

                 ~**~

We laughted, we cried, you were there by my side,

We went to the Mountains, all over the Hills of Tennessee!

You have always been like a Rose to me!

                  ~**~

My memories of you are so true

Just like the Rose I love so

I dont know if I could have become the woman I am today

Without a friend like you, I loved you so,

like a sister I never had, and like the Rose!

                   ~**~

You were so orderly, and I was so sloppy

Remember the fight, you got your eyes punched Blue,

Oh, how did you put up with Me?

                  ~**~

Never a dull moment, I was always proud to say

you were my friend, and always have been

                  ~**~

We lost contact for alot of years,

I know we both have shed many tears

                  ~**~

Now, we both live close to the Sea,

just not the same city.

You will always  be in my mind, like the Rose, It always grows so

beautiful with time, and you are in my heart to stay,

Alana, my friend,

I will never forget many of the days.

                 ~**~

You helped me become the woman I am today

And this Rose for you I send

With a prayer of thanks to God,

Alana My Friend!
